    • More TCS/OSS/Argos debugging and tests to come.

DE

  • Last week
    • Veeam stuff, no response, going to contact CDW now. This is absurd.
    • Vault backup tests good
    • Jim laptop work, pretty much good to go, pending further software requests from him
    • OK dropped remote request with zero notice. She was appropriately contrite and it turned out that the observer had all accounts and credentials but didn't bother to check history to find them. I bumped the SMS I'd sent and as far as I know they got the info they needed.
    • AC laptop ship
    • Autodesk edu access get, sent magic letter to IT
  • This week
    • Office trip at some point to drop JW laptop and take care of sundries
    • Nail down Veeam licensing
    • Talk to Backblaze to cement understanding of the file structure re: files of the same name.

PSG

  • Last week
    • Testing ARGOS software and proxy - may be problems with the ARGOS software resetting the values.
    • Talked with Petr about new GCS - he seems to think it can be tested and possibly used.
    • NOMIC testing, still having problems with initialization of camera.
    • SHARK-NIR - help Fulvio writing a client to grab and inspect camera images.
    • Maxnet motor debugging - problem may actually be with the controller itself.
  • This week
    • Determine if ARGOS softare is fighting with OSS.
    • Finish NOMIC fixes.
    • Finish SHARK-NIR code and remote help.

GE

  • Last week:
    • Deployed LUCI 2.14.9, which contains a new RTD (a best attempt to fix the concurrency and performance issues) and fixes for passive flexure correction.
    • Began investigating alternatives to Aladin, since my experience now is that Aladin contains a few bugs and (more importantly) performs very poorly in a remote observing environment.
    • Updated the RTD Problem Reporting document.
    • Closed a number of issues related to the LUCI RTD. Should these issues recur, they can be reopened or new issues can be created.
      • 8595: GEIRS subwin response
      • 8593: RTD bad pixel map
      • 8590: Odd LMS error message
      • 8584: Images not displayed in RTD
      • 8494: Image shift during subtraction
      • 8344: Image bitpix error on load
      • 7588: PFC enabled while slewing
      • 7493: Slow subtraction, and results all same value
      • 7096: LMS files not loaded: reopened
      • 6826: Slow client GUIs, superceded by 5815
      • 6546: Images going to wrong RTD
    • Figured out how to make IntelliJ Annotations work with ant (the LUCI build system). This will allow me to use @NotNull to catch a lot more errors at compile time.
    • Updated my LUCI VM to CentOS 7 latest.
  • This week:
    • 7096: LMS files not loaded
    • Seriously look into alternatives to Aladin. Currently I am leaning toward DS9, though that requires either launching an xpaset/get process for each interaction or writing a Java XPAlib wrapper.
    • Consider whether to move LUCI from Java 8 (1.8) to Java 17 (latest) to try to improve performance.
    • Restart work on the observer GUI.

BM

  • Last week:
    • hk-partial-timeout ready for daytime testing again
    • updated GH deploy keys to ecdsa on adsec/wfs machines
    • Updated IT 8602 (out of range bayside movements should give error instead of timeout) with link to GH issue with some thoughts how to fix--maybe low priority though if patrol field just needs to be fixed
    • Gain ramp discussion
    • Looking through MsgD code
  • This week:
    • AO SW test planning meeting tomorrow @ 2 (interrupted offsets: get wfs frames during pause, gain ramp, housekeeper)
    • MsgD issues:
      • AOS disconnect
      • disturbance loading: AOS dropping notifications of wfsarb.L.MSG
    • More issues:
      • loopfault during autogain: reset autogain gains to 1
      • Ice disconnects

SH

  • Moving data from old to new Synology
    • shared home directories from this weekend
    • telemetry, repository, archive, lbti, cveillet, some shared homes ~35% usage of the machine
