LBC CCD Controller Standalone Test Program

There is a standalone main program that runs on Windows XP (2002) for checking out the CCD controller functionality without the top-level CMU software.

This program can be run while the cryostats/controllers are on the telescope, on one of the Windows PCs - red sci/tech or blue sci/tech.
It can be run from the IBM test PC setup in the 116 lab, with a controller that is off the telescope.

There is a shortcut for the program on all the machines - something like

The program prompts for:
  • a "device ID" that has to match the number on the sticker of the controller case.
  • which "camera" is being used r for red tech, R for red science, b for blue tech, B for blue science
  • if science is selected, you must choose between multi-fits or fits formats
  • directory for where to put the image data when taking exposures

To take images, the controller must be initialized (option 1 of the main menu).

Make sure to clean up the image directory when you are done.
