TMS Meeting Minutes, March 24, 2022

Attendees: Andrew, Breann, Christian, Olga, Trenton, Yang (Zoom Meeting)

Recent Updates from TMS Run on 3/23:
  • Multiple channels with large standard deviations dropping at various times
  • It is possible that there is something moving for all channels
  • At the start of the night, TMS was run in active mode
  • When Olga slewed to 30 degrees, Sx stopped sending updates
  • Olga recalls a time when she imparted large dithering (7 arcmins, or the width of an LBC chip) on 3/14, and she didn't see TMS failing across multiple channels then
  • It could be the case that we have too little time to complete a TMS measurement because TMS waits for mirror movement to complete AND shutter completion
  • In active mode, TMS failed to send any corrections
  • Note, mirror was dropped by 0.8 mm from 6.4 to 6.85; FPIA was run around 6.45 and around 6.78; then continued with TMS in passive mode
  • While in extra-focal mode, TMS will not give global rotation corrections
  • Ran another FPIA around 7.25, but then continued on in passive mode
  • It was at this point that LBC Blue ran away
  • There were some interesting wiggles in Z spotted 03/22
  • X and Ry where changing, which may have resulted in wiggles in Z
  • It appears that TMS is the culprit, affecting the left much more than the right
  • John suggests that it may be the case that adding one more channel to the reference makes it more stable
  • Olga notes that we were using an old reference with a missing channel on Sx (Dx may have no change)
LBTO + GMTO Meeting:
  • Some misunderstanding of exactly what the goal of the meeting is
  • Plan to meet from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM on April 8th
  • Andrew and Trenton to present on TMS to the crowd first thing in the morning
  • Planning to invite people outside of TMS, as well
