How to set up scripts for direct imaging with LUCIFER

1. Find a guide star for your target.

2. Create a script for acquiring your target and running a dither pattern -- here's an example:

3. Chose your exposure times per dither wisely.

If you integrate longer than about 2 minutes per dither position, you will not sample changes in the sky adequately. If the conditions are junky, you may want shorter integrations per dither position. If you take shorter integrations per dither, the observing efficiency goes down, however.

4. Comment out the Telescope_SETUP section on subsequent scripts if you are for, example, doing multiple filters on one target.

5. Random dithers are really best.
