Recovering FIREFOX functionality on the LUCIFER computer:

Log in as you usually do, and if firefox does not start then do the following:
  • ps -ef | grep firefox
  • Note the process ID number (PID) in column 2 for the process running firefox (not the grep command)
  • kill -9 PID (note: replace the PID with the correct process ID number noted before)

You should then be able to start firefox normally.
