Observer LUCI-Team: JHeidt, BRothberg
Observer AO: DMiller
Telescope Operator: DG Huerta

Plan for the night

- Do checkout of FLAO-SX

- If successfull and seeing is good: start LUCI AO-com,

- if not, MODS-checkout or service observing

Summary

Details

All times are UT
Files are luci1.20161018.NNNN.fits

01:15 David opens up. Weather looks good: Mostly, T = +9deg, Hum = 30%, Wind = 10 m/s

01:30 Doug wakes up FLAO

01:40 Doug is having troubles with the SX-ADSec, OK sorted out

01:50 David checks pointing and collimates, done, seeing starts at about 1.2" on guider

FLAO-SX checkout

see logs by Doug

02:45 Seeing is bad (2-2.5"), hand over to Olga for MODS-checkout

07:00 Seeing impoves a bit now in the 1-1.5" range, FLAO-SX start may perhaps resume soon

07:10 David econfigures telescope for LUCI1

07:40 Seeing jumps up and down, no progress so far

08:20 Finally started taking W Unit transform data, 5 * dice5, OH_1060/z, #0006-0027
error at offset for image #0028, "stages position not reached"
sufficient data for check, cores of star are elongated iNE-SW, Olga is now checking the trafo data
results look good, rotation about 0.2deg

08:40 Doug grabs Geirs for NCPA-verification, SX-crashed, recovered, seeing too bad to check NCPA in detail,
the impression is good though

09:30 Offset onaxis refstar, bin=4 in M34, 2 * dice5, K, 2.6*5 int, #0031-0040

09:30 Offset offaxis refstar, bin=4 in M34, 2 * dice5, K, 2.6*5 int, #0042-0048, loop opened,
restart script, had to check pointing, OK

SX-FLAO is released for LUCI1 AO-commisioning

10:50 Seeing is too bad and variable, ie can not start with com, check MOS-acq. instead

MOS acquisition successfull, error in sign seems to be removed

12:10 Seeing somewhat better, check now focus and NCPA (again)

13:00 End of night
