Software Progress Report - May 2010

May 2010 is the time when the first AO closed loop has been obtained on a sky target. Most of the software development was devoted to debug and improvements of the procedures at the AO Supervisor level.

AdSec Software

  • Many low level IDL procedures have been improved
  • Added some data analysis functionsto help in evaluation of performances and other commissioning tasks
  • Added Demo mode operation in AdSec Arbitrator and some test procedures added.
  • A completely new version of the AdSec Arbitrator coded and tested. It includes a new FSM.
  • Small modifications to AdSec Control GUI
  • The structure of IDL source directory has been modified

WFS Software

  • Some improvements to the WFS engineering GUIs
  • Small modifications to the WFS Arbitrator.
  • Improvements to low level analysis procedures
  • Improvements in IRTC support procedures
  • The calibration directory was reorganized

AO Software

  • Added support for IDL status checking (license)
  • Logging levels management revised

AOS

  • AO5 build enhancements and bug fixes
    • Offload modes computation revised
    • More logging added

  • Trunk enhancements
    • Binocular version updates
    • Some AOSGUI enhancements (IDL status and lab mode warnings added, flat selection from a list added).
    • Some variable names have been modified
    • More telescope status information mirrored to AO Supervisor
    • Fixed bug related to DD variable tipe mismatch.

Miscellaneous

  • Some test procedures were developed to help in the diagnosis of a network problem related to some devices internal to the AdSec (Adam Ethernet based I/O module).
  • Some enhancemets to basic libraries, and a long lasting bug solved.
  • Some procedures for the management of the new interferometers have been developed
  • Some enhancements to SW installation procedures
  • Some enhancements to make procedures
