Software Progress Report - February 2010

The software work in february 2010 was mostly spent in the support to the commissioning on Mt. Graham. The following page contains a resume of the activity which is described in more details in the commissioning logs and reports.

OS configuration and setup

  • O.S. has been configured and required packages have been installed on the AO servers. The corresponding documentation has been checked and revised.

  • As part of OS configuration of AO servers on Mt.Graham a number of revisions to the makefiles and setup procedures were done in order to support the creation of software distribution releases, to ease installation, and to manage the fast switching of software releases on the AO servers. A dedicated procedure has been developed to set up the installation environment.

  • The functionality of network layout was tested. The network configuration was slightly revised in order to require a smaller number of network interfaces.

AdSec Software

  • The structure of the config directory has been revised to make it more manageable.
  • A number of procedures were revised
  • A bug fixed in AdSec arbitrator and some enhancements were planned.

WFS Software

  • The structure of the config directory has been revised to make it more manageable.
  • A number of engineering procedure have been tested and revised
  • Engineering GUI's have been enhanced

AOS

  • Small enhancements to the command interface and to the GUI have been made.

Miscellaneous

  • A copy of the AO Supervisor SVN repository has been established in Tucson. It will be used for the development during commissioning.

  • A small procedure to compare directory trees has been written as a software management tool.
