We start the activity at 8:30. Runa installed the RR with the telescope crew early in the morning.

Internal vibration of W board

We do a check of the existing internal vibrations usin the internal light source and taking some frame with 0 gain in closed loop.

We do the acqusition of the BIN3 pupil. We use the routine with intensity threshold. WE obtain a pupil with 72 subapertures. We want to see the shape of the BIN3 pupil if obtained rebinning BIN1 pupil as comparison.

autogain OK no force excess.

we reload the mirror flat with 400 modes to minimize aberrations on the high order modes.

We test mag 8 with no disturbance 850fps (because of TT modulation limits at high temporal frequencies).

We acquire 3+3 PSFs with IRTC 50ms 200frames.

In this measurement set the last two measuremets are wrong. Modulation is at 6 lambda/D NOT 7 as wrote in the table. NOTE: discovered a problem with the functions that compute the TT volatge as a function of the modulation. The direct functions mod2volt gives a volatge value that the volt2mod function recompute in a different modulation. Alfio investigate this.

The maximum is reached arund -40 where the Y axis is close to saturation. However all the rotation range is available. We accept the configuration.

NOTE we discuss the option to have a scondary threshold for BIN3 and BIN4 so that if 0.1 pix is missing we move to a threshold 0.2pix.

BIN4 calibration

we start with the acquisition of the pupil. We discuss on the position where taking the pupil and in the end we decide to center the pupil differently form the BIN1. In this way we select a camera lens positon that yelds a centrosimmetrical pupil. We have one subaps as central obstruction. Thsi is consistent with the initial mask at BIN1 where the digital masking was 4x3.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We found that the current pupil used for BIN1 20130916_165012 has one pixel added by the BCU. This pixel should be removed in the next work. It will require to add one pixel in another loctaion due to the constrains of having a even number of subapertures in the REC.

NIGHT TIME activity (start 7:00PM)

We start with a BIN1 reconstructor test.

The reference star is AO650 nominal mag 7.0

7:00PM We started around 7:00PM. Geno is pointing a star.

7:25PM still pointing the telescope.

7:42PM still pointing the star. We found a star but is very aberrated. The TO moved the telescope to another star next to it.

7:53PM still pointing the star.

8:54PM star still not acquired.

9:03 the telescope is closed for high humidity

A preset has been sent to FLAO DX AO740 no star found. Probably probe was on axis.

il primo autogain era fallito perche perdeva un bordo. Si cambia il flat che era del 14 settembre alle 17:16.

adesso autogain e OK. Prendiamo alcune immagini con la IRTC.

NOTA il bordo in alto a SX delle pupille nel visore del CCD39 sembra meno illuminato.

There is a strong vibration at 30 Hz.

si cerca di debaggare la routine iif_runao che ha un problema. Sembra risolto.

Seeing 1.7 arcsec ci sono le nuvole la mag ora e 9.5 !!!!

seeing is 1.9 nuvole

lo offload dei modi e piuttosto lento.

facciamo un REC a 200 modi per metterlo come bad seeing.

REC 063341 a 300 modi BIN1 3lambda/D fattao dalla stessa IM (222448) del 400 modi KL_V16.

Sembra che ci sia sempre un bordo in alto a SX delle pupille un po vignettato. Controlliamo i vignettamenti con la sorgente interna ma non troviamo niente.

Pare che ci siano ancora le nuvole. Si punto il telescopio in una zona di cielo dove ci sono meno nuvole.

Si punta AO50 con BIN1 mgnitudine misurata 8.6

Il rotatore adesso e a 200 e il vignettamento e' sparito.

Vibration Elaboration

Mentre il telescopio è chiuso per maltempo noi elaboriamo sulle vibrazioni.

20130916_022951 mostra le vibrazioni sul FLAO DX e 20130913_211636 su LBTI SX.

Nel FLAO la linea a 30Hz ha una ampiezza sul modo 1 comandato che è 4 volte superiore a quella del modo 0, nel LBTI i due tilt hanno ampiezze uguali. I tilt sono ruotati di circa 45 gradi rispetto al sistema di riferimento del telescopio (asse y parallelo allo swing-arm). Da confermare sul SX. Questo potrebbe essere compatibile con una vibrazione di M3, mentre sembra incompatibile con una vibrazione di M2.
