2011-10-14 02:28:00 Pisces server died - we have to restart it. Luckily it remembers the current filter. Doug's software stopped as well and needed to be restart

TODAY's SUGGESTIONS

A complete restart of the software (W and AdSec) before the start of the night would have prevented the two failed presets. This would only take a couple of minutes.

PISCES SW MODIFICATION

We modify Doug's PISCES software to trigger a dataset on the AO system every time an image is started. This is done with a single call "trigger_wfsdx" which is called at the end of pisces_check_image.pro

AO SW MODIFICATION

The OffsetZ command, which was up to now a relative movement, has been changed to be an absolute positioning of the focus stage. The parameter is passed directly to the W unit as a stage position target.

This is done because experience has demonstrated that it is much more convenient to have the absolute position command instead of the relative one. In particular, the relative command forces the instrument to keep track and integrate all changes done.

OPTLOOPGAIN test

We go on with the optloopgain disturbance inserted. From a quick look at yesterday's data, the signals are visible at high strehl, but already at bin2 they become confused in the noise. Amplitude should be raised.

Sinusoidal IM

A series of disturbances with 3 modes each has been prepared, together with a script to acquire it ("script_im")
