PISCES status

Pisces filterwheel is operational and we can change filters.
Craig implemented the "nudge" command that can fix the position in case something goes wrong.
The webcam gives good feedback.

Opt loop gain test

We introduce an automatic modal disturbance at the moment of closing the loop. Therefore ALL tracking numbers saved today contain a modal disturbance with the following parameters:

10 2e-9 10% of loop freq + 5.7 Hz * (loopfreq/100)
150 2e-9 10% of loop freq + 5.7 Hz * (loopfreq/100)*2
200 2e-9 10% of loop freq + 5.7 Hz * (loopfreq/100)*3
The disturbance files are generated offline with the procedure:

idl/wfs_lib/sinusmode_optloopgain.pro

and there is a separate file for each possible loop frequency. The files are called optloopgain_xxxx.fits where xxxx is the loop freq in Hz, and they are put in the atmospheric disturbance directory, for example:

/towerdata/adsec_calib/CMD/disturb/optloopgain_0990.fits
/towerdata/adsec_calib/CMD/disturb/optloopgain_0800.fits

etc.

Problemi di collimazione del telescopio

UT 2:30 Si prova a prendere frames con PISCES della standard ma non si vede niente anche con exptime=30s

UT 3:00 si scopre che era rimasto IL TAPPO SU PISCES!!! Infatti facendo un preset adattivo compare la stella sul ccd47. Si va allo zenith e si toglie il tappo

UT 3:05 Preset adattivo sulla stessa stella, il telescopio non trova piu' la guide star e fallisce l'adaptive optics. Niente stella sul ccd47.

UT 3:10 Nuovo preset adattivo, di nuovo il telescopio non ce la fa.

UT 3:25 Preset

Fixed another autogain problen

Autogain failed in the first preset because one file was missing from the idl/wfs_lib directory. The problem is that two Makefiles were installing in the same directory and were overwriting each other. Fixed moving all IDL scripts to a single location.

TELESCOPE STOP

Dave needs the telescope at zenith for a while, so we give back control. But, when David moves the telescope, the preset is canceled AFTER the movement starts, and this is enough to lose the light from the ccd39 while the loop is still close and send everything into failure. After that, a Stop from the telescope arrives, but it is too late. This should be reported to Tucson people to see the order of operations during such an operation.

We restarted the WFS arbitrator: now the rotator angle are correctly sent to the WFS and the rotator angle continously updates. Autogain failed...

Dai dati presi finora abbiamo:

Focus on-axis: 51.8 mm
Focus 20.58": 51.6 mm cioe' praticamente nell'errore di misura

Acquisizione off-axis non funziona

Il target precedente (chisei?chiPersei) contiene una lista molto lunga di stelle di riferimento a distanza variabile da pochi arcsec fino a arcmin. Abbiamo provato tutti i preset possbili con stelle di riferimento fra 20 arcsec e 75 arcsec fallendo sistematicamente con la stella che non appare nemmeno nel ccd47. Siamo riusciti a acquisire solo la stella a 20". Questa informazione contrasta con il fatto che gli offsets vengono fatti bene fino ad almeno 50arcsec.

Fault telescopio

UT 10:00 Fermi perche' il rotatore e' andato in fault

UT 10:50 Ancora fermi, si e' ripreso per un attimo ma e' andato in tilt al primo preset

Standards

UT 11:00 Riparte il telescopio, lo lasciamo JCG e KB che fanno 4 standards a diverse elevazioni in J,H,K
