Measurement Info

  • Measurements acquired September 30, 2009

  • Data collected during daytime. (Almost everything turned off.)

  • These are preliminary measurements-- just to get a feel for the level of motion on the pier.

  • Measurements were complicated by heavy coating of oil. Spot-cleaning with alcohol on the steel structure allowed for super-glue attachment of accelerometers. But this was not possible on the concrete structure.

  • Orientation of capacitive triax accelerometer:

Accelerometers

  • Low bandwidth triaxial capacitive accelerometer: PCB 3703G3FD3G, SN3376

  • High bandwidth triaxial shear-type accelerometer: PCB 356B18, SN68994

  • Measured with: HP/Agilent Dynamic Signal Analyzer
