Summary

This night was scheduled for SX AO Commissioning. The first 1/3 of the night was spent doing AGW1 alignment at LFBG which was a prerequisite to AO Commissioning. The later part of the night was used for AO Commissioning as planned.

AGW1 Alignment

02:00 acquire bright sky wfsc image to look at the pupil
  • left_wfsc000003.fits on-axis pupil rot=90 x,y 380.5, 207

  • Bunch of testing. To busy to write in the log

04:40 Done with AGw#1 startup. Send ACE preset. Here's what we did:
  • Collimated on-axis with IDL. Changed rotator offset to 9.0 (this was LFBG's value with AGw#3)
  • Diverge, see Z5 and Z6 have wrong sign
  • Set IDL rotator offset to 120.
  • Collimation with IDL sort of converge.
  • Set IDL rotator offset to 128.
  • Good convergence
  • Preset off-axis with Y, but X=0
  • Good convergence
  • Preset off-axis with Y=60, X=150
  • Good convergence
  • Preset in ACE mode. Success. Runao failes
  • GCS collimation diverge
  • Realize that the rotator angle is alway 0.0
  • Change /lbt/tcs/current/gcs/configuration/GCS/AGW1.cfg so rotator variable is now rotator[2] (LFBG) rather than rotator[4] (LBBG)
  • Change IDL rotator offset to 9.0. Collimate with IDL. Good collimation now that getting the correct rotator value
  • Change /home/telescope/TCS/Configuration/GCS/IRTC_L.cfg to rotator offset of 9.0.
  • Changed Guider Hotspot from (220,229) to (225,210) to center SH spots in WFSC subaps
  • GCS collimate well

04:40 Seeing ~0.7" Primaries are in good equilibrium.

Random discussion: CFHT records all chamber audio with timestamps so they can listen to events later.

Conclusion: The well-aligned DX M3 position for the little w in AGW2 is Tip=-750, Tilt=+500, Piston=0, Selector=-26.0397 deg .
