01:26 We start with tests for LBC software.
  • Go to pointing star WT10_319 for rangebal and collimation
  • we cannot do rangebal because the some values are missing from the header
  • we call T. Sargent, we switch to BP11, we call P. Grenz
  • we swithed to BP13 because it was not a TCS problem - values are saved correctly in DD

02:37 Probably we had problems with the headers because LBC was not connected to the telescope
  • connect to the telescope
  • run rangebal - this time it went through correctly
  • while we were running dofpia - LBC crashed and restarted - LBC control gui was not responding and dopfpia stopped during the 5th iteration because it would not find the images in newdata
  • AdP. rebooted LBC

03:08 Clear active optics - repeat OB and dofpia * globas offset SXZREL=-0.8 and DXZREL=-0.3 manually

03:20 start test for PA.
  • point to different stars and obtain more images changing the PA
  • point to WT10_319 - starting PA=353, repeat OB with PA=176 and PA=65
  • point to WT10_276 - starting PA=62, repeat OB with PA=196 and PA=33
  • point to WT10_164 - starting PA=237, repeat OB with PA=143

03:58 Slew back to WT10_319
  • the Parralactic angle on PCS (80.50) is different than the parralactic angle in the image header (98.91)

04:30 Turn off LBC to update SW. - Turn on again

04:35 Slew to WT10_319 again to verify if SW update worked.
  • now we have PARANGLE = ROTANGLE + PA_PNT
  • The position angle in the images are significantly different (and varying) from the requested PA. ROTANGLE in the header and in the rotator trajectory seems to be off from the parallactic angle as reported on the PCS GUI.

04:47 Reverted to previous LBC SW, PA's on sky now close to requested.

  • dofpia
  • rangebal - record instrument offsets - active optics, elevation, T1 and T2

Seeing was marginal for a lot of this (~2") but had a lot of trouble collimating at lower elevations

In collimated WFS image the spots appear systematically offset from the center of the lenslet aaray. See, for example, wfscimage000225
