Afternoon: David and Richard removed a few ice chunks from the roof.

01:00 Dave T. logged on from Tucson and fixed the IRAF rangebal and takepic routines.

01:30 David opened the telescope. Wind 10 m/s, Temp 0 C, Humidity 11%

01:45 David is still looking for a star, M5_0042. Never found a star. We were at 86 elevation

02:01 preset, ACQUIRE, M5_0094

02:15 David moved to zenith and went up to the chamber to see if there was anything blocking the beam. No. We could see stars pass by in the Acquisition image while we were at zenith. This means camera is running and giving good images.

02:20 preset in track mode and use the IRTC in fast continuous mode. Find star once we had set IE and CA to November values, -24, 41. Line up with M5 star

02:45 preset ACQUIRE BS9107 Reset IE=-37 CA=24

03:00 Collimated to below 300 nm in 6 iterations

03:20 Tried rangebal. Failed because of large move. Dave T changed a limit and now works

Collimation Problem

07:05 Collimating at 30 deg elevation, first without lenslet rotation term. First image right_wfscimage000222.fits. Star is BS9138. Moon has risen. Wind ~11 m/s from due South; enclosure pointing just S of due E. Converged to ~350 nm rms. Last image is #255.

07:27 Restarting GCS with lenslet rotation variable set to -0.7 (as measured). First image is #256. Continuing while Andrew computes new range balanced collimation model for RFBG. Last image is #289

07:48 Preset to same object with PA=90 for collimation convergence. El=37 deg. First wfs image is #290. Last is #299.

07:58 Preset sent with PA=180 and failed with no star. David adjusts IE, CA, and star is at edge of on-axis acquisition image. First image is #301; El = 40 deg. Last is #310.

08:07 Same object, PA = -90. First wfs image is #311. Last is #320.

09:08 Finally got the new collimation lookup tables. We originally put them in /lbt/tcs/current/etc/PSF. However, lbt.conf was pointing PSF to the directory /tcs/telescope/
