Check Operation of All Bins

A Full set of data includes all the AO telemetry data (list here) and IRTC data. NOTE for Bin 3 and 4 the target star (Mag< 14.4) is too dim to be seen on the IRTC. Thus only the AO telemetry data are collected and analyzed.

Robustness Tests of DX AO System

Multiple presets for a number of different targets spanning a range of magnitudes (Bin 1 - Bin 4) and elevations will be carried out to assess the stability of the AO systems and the robustness of the acquisition and loop closure. Each one of the these will comprise about 6 presets and will take ~ 60-80 mins.

The data collected are:
  • AO telemetry: 4000 frames
    • WFS Frames
    • Slopes
    • Model Commands
    • Actuator Commands
    • Actuator Positions
  • IRTC images: 10-100 frames depending on exposure time

The data sets to collect are:
  • ALERT! (1 hr) Repeat 6 AO Closed Loop, Mag = 10 (Bin 1), El = 30
  • ALERT! (1 hr) Repeat 6 AO Closed Loop, Mag = 14 (Bin 2), El = 40
  • ALERT! (1.2 hr) Repeat 6 AO Closed Loop, Mag = 15.2 (Bin 3), El = 65
  • ALERT! (1.2 hr) Repeat 6 AO Closed Loop, Mag = 15.7 (Bin 4), El = 45
  • ALERT! (0.5 hr) AO Closed Loop, Repeat Dice5 offset twice, Mag = 12 (Bin 1), El = 40
  • ALERT! (0.5 hr) AO Closed Loop, Repeat Dice5 offset twice, Mag = 14.5 (Bin 2), El = 60
  • ALERT! (0.5 hr) AO Closed Loop, Repeat Dice5 offset twice, Mag = 15.4 (Bin 3), El = 40
  • ALERT! (0.5 hr) AO Closed Loop, Repeat Dice5 offset twice, Mag = 15.7 (Bin 4), El = 65
  • ALERT! (3 hr) Preset and AO Closed Loop to list of 15 stars with random mag (10-16) and random elevation (30-80)
