Summary

Retro-Reflector work.

Alignment of the hexapod to retrieve the spots in the narrow field of IRTC.

There was a problem in the identification of the rotator zero position for the optical alignment of the W#, working with Tom Sarget to find the right zero position.

The loop could be close at bin one, not performance done.

Details

09:00 Retro- installed in the telescope and systems are started up.

The spots are idenitfied after running the siral search with the hexapod.

The positions of the hexapod are:

closing the loop @bin1 10 modes and 400 modes. It was found that the position for the telescope rotator Zero is not the position that we had before. This problem could be due to the jet-harddisk failure of the MCS and the position couldn't be retrieved. This new position looking from the W# side was -75.3 degrees off teh nominal position. Manually adjusting the correct offset the loop could be close with the following performance, the test wan't to perform a right calibration. An error in the rotation makes the loop instable and the TT diverge. The image below shows the pupils during a mistmatch of the rotator positions.

We started to find the offset angle of the rotator for the zero optical alignment. This procedure couldn't be finished, handover at 16:20.
