Startup of the DM672a in the Solar Tower

In a Nutshell

  1. Close cooling bypass value in the Solar Tower
  2. Turn in 120 V AC and 380 V AC breaker switches in bathroom
  3. Turn on power to the top of the Solar Tower using the Arcetri web page
  4. Check the cooling pumps are running at 100% (use the Arcetri web page)
  5. Start all daemons by clicking "AO Start" on aosw desktop
  6. Power on DM672a and Hexapod
    • Start xemacs from xterm on computer aosw
      • % cd idl
      • % cd adsec672a
      • % xemacs &
    • Start idlwave in emacs by pressing [f12] (or [f7] on my mac)

  7. Start hexapod daemon

Detalls

1) Close cooling bypass value in the Solar Tower

The piping for DM672 is in dome on top of the Solar Tower. When the bypass is open (knob turned out) the pressure on both sides of the bypass reads about 1 bar. When the bypass is closed (know turned in) both pressure gauges read about 2 bars.

2) Turn in 120 V AC and 380 V AC breaker switches in bathroom

There are two breaker switches in the "bathroom" in the Solar Tower lab that need to be switched on. On the north wall there are three power boxes, with the 120 V AC box being the lower and the 380 V AC being the upper most. The 120 V should be turn on first (from down to up), and is the breaker is the lowest left breaker in the box and has two throws (switches). The 380 V is in the center left of the upper box and should be turned (from down to up) and has four throws (switches).

3) Turn on power to the top of the Solar Tower using the Arcetri web page
