Adjust pupil masks.

The wobble of the pupil is a sum of various contributors in the light path from the secondary to the WFS.

The contributors like as; tertiary, pupil rerotator and camera lens can place the pupils in a different positions of the WFS CCD.

The camera lens is used to track those movements of the pupils insoide of a range of +-100um.

Measure pupil wobble displacement vs rotaiton angle.

The displacement is measured using the AO system in close loop and allow the rotator to move from 360 to 0 and back to 360 degrees. The setup of the system and the procedure to displace the pupils are the following;

Setup.

* Setup AO system for daytime performances check using the Argos Cal Unit.

Using AOS; preset mag 11.

FLAO GUI; intervention mode.

AOS: Acquire.

FLAO: Acquire star and center star, close loop.

WFS control GUI; Open loop.

* Open the DMS web page to track and plot the movements of the camera lens vs rotation.

PUPILCHECKOCAM2_L_PUP0 5: camerfa lens position error for X-axis

PUPILCHECKOCAM2_L_PUP0 6: camera lens position error for Y-axis.

* Set the telescope rotator; LFBG or RFBG.
  • Power On.
  • Velocity 1deg/sec.

Execution:

  • Close loop with 10_modi gain.
  • run script:
wobble-check_backward.py
move rotator from 340 to 360 and back to 0.
wobble_check_forward.py.
Move rotator from 0 to 360.

Correction.

For desplacements of the pupil out of mid/range position run the Pupil wobble shift ptyhon programs.
