Usage of the Fastlink Fiber Switch

The Fiber Switch is a device installed in the Treehouse to configure FastLink fibers for ARGOS operation.

This one superseed HowToInstallARGOSFiberSplitter that is not installed anymore.

"The fiber switch (FLAO and ARGOS are sharing the same port) was integrated in the ao supervisor SW to auto the focal station change with different AO systems."

Integration on SX was done on Jan 31, 2018

Integration on DX was done on Feb 20, 2018

In case there is a problem with the connections, use the following instructions to configure the switches manually:

From IT 6416

As the instrument authorization is sided (SX/DX), the way to control the switches is as follows:

Connect to the fiber switch controller: telnet 192.168.18.91 10001

- For FLAO operation:
 SX: Ctrl-a 1 (return) Ctrl-a 3 (return)
 DX: Ctrl-a 2 (return) Ctrl-a 4 (return)

- For ARGOS operation:
 SX: Ctrl-b 1 (return) Ctrl-b 3 (return)
 DX: Ctrl-b 2 (return) Ctrl-b 4 (return)

To query status: Ctrl-p (return)

To disconnect and exit telnet: Ctrl-] (return) quit (return)
